SCHOOL OF HOPE: A NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

As we start off another school year at School of Hope, we are filled with hope and gratitude for the opportunity to continue supporting education for refugees through Horizons Lebanon. The past year has been challenging, but together, we have shown resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

A New Chapter of Learning and Growth:

The beginning of a school year is always a time of excitement, and it's no different for the refugee children in Lebanon. For many of them, going to school is not just about gaining knowledge; it's a symbol of hope, a chance to build a brighter future, and a step towards healing from the scars of displacement.

We are proud to share some of the achievements and milestones from the past year:

• 210 refugee students enrolled in our programs.

• 3 grade levels added and equipped with new and driven teachers.

• 20 dedicated teachers and volunteers providing quality education.

To our exemplary teachers, we couldn't have achieved these milestones without your unwavering support. Your generosity, time, and commitment to our mission have made a real difference in the lives of these young learners.

Mission in Ukraine: A Heartwarming Update

September 27, 2023 - Horizons Ukraine

Khalil and Jullia Abdelahad, along with the Horizons team, answered a call to serve in Ukraine, and we just received some wonderful news from them. Through their service in Ukraine, our team is helping to keep local churches intact and spread the Gospel in the midst of an extensive war that has drained everything. The Pentecostal Church in Dárnica helped facilitate the distribution of food portions to several families there!

Their mission was not just about providing physical aid but also about preserving something equally precious: the spirit of local churches and the message of the Gospel. The challenges were immense, but their dedication knew no bounds.

We are overjoyed to share some wonderful news from Brother Khalil and the Horizons Team. Their tireless efforts have borne fruit, not only in terms of material assistance but also in the hearts and souls they have touched.

Pray with us for Ukraine. Having witnessed God turn tragedy into triumph on multiple occasions, we pray that the current destruction will result in a wave of new believers who will bring God's grace and healing to their nation.

EQ & 360 Training: Building Emotional Intelligence for a Kingdom-Focused Journey

We are thrilled to share some inspiring feedback from our recent EQ (Emotional Intelligence) and 360 Training sessions, which have had a profound impact on many of our team members. These training sessions, led by our dedicated coaching team, have provided a valuable opportunity for personal growth and development.

Feedback from our staff has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the transformative experience these training sessions offered. 

Many have mentioned how the EQ & 360 Training opened their eyes to a whole new level of self-awareness learning how to recognize and manage emotions better.

The coaching team was incredibly supportive and insightful. They helped our staff set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals that have allowed them to focus on their strengths and work on their weaknesses in a structured and effective way.

This is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our coaching team and the willingness of our staff to embrace personal growth and positive change. We believe that by investing in our own development, we not only enhance our individual capabilities but also contribute to the collective success of Horizons: Proclaim, Disciple & Equip.
